I'm taking a step away from the norm for this blog and sharing with you some personal and wonderful news... we're expecting kiddo #2!! We are thrilled to the gills about it and can't wait to meet him or her in August!
I'm now 17 weeks into my pregnancy and, aside from daily nausea and vomiting, all is going really well. My sweet husband has been SO good about
And now that I'm in my 2nd trimester I'm feeling less tired and sore, too, which is great and makes chasing after a preschooler MUCH easier. Oh, and I've already been feeling the nesting urge! Actually, that's an understatement. I'm practically busting with the need to unpack and organize (eee!!) all of James' old baby clothes! Alas, I must restrain myself for another few weeks until we find out the gender of our little B. Yes, we will be finding out the gender... I'm just WAY too much of a planner to not find out and I think the surprise is just as wonderful if it comes sooner than later. :)
We have yet to tell James the wonderful news and we have a fun idea for how we'll tell him. Funny thing is, we have a feeling he's already aware of what's going on... he said to my husband the other day, "Well, I'm going to go sit by my mom and my sister..." (!) and when a flabbergasted me asked him, "Where's your sister?", he pointed to my stomach and said, "There!". We haven't really discussed the baby in front of James and we do not yet know the gender, so it kind of gave us chills to hear him talk about it so matter of fact! It will be SO cool if he's right and it is a girl!
Ok, enough baby talk (for now!)... you may notice me posting a bit less frequently going forward. In an effort to appease my nesting urges, I've been using most of my "free time" to knit booties and blankets for the B. :)
~Thank you for your comments!~
Congratulations, Mari-Ann!!! I'm so excited for you!!!! Keep us posted on how the rest of the pregnancy goes! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm so happy for you. We are expecting our fourth child in early September.
ReplyDeleteThat is such wonderful news...I lost during both of my children's first trimesters...but they are both fantastic children now years later. Good luck with the next few months.

ReplyDeleteHurray!! How exciting for you:) I love those baby bumps!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Mari-Ann! It can be so hard to eat right when you're pregnant and NOTHING sounds good, but it sounds like you (with the help of your hubby) are doing well! I love James' intuition about your baby "girl", and I can't wait to find out if he's right!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Mari-Ann
ReplyDeleteI was so happy to read your expecting baby nr 2. Good news is always priceless ;-) Hope all the bad pregnant experiences will vanish in no time and you will relish the unforgettable moments. We had the same experience with our older son - he knew long before us and was also right about the gender ;-). Lots of Love for the four of you.
Ewa
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! What a wonderful blessing. :) Enjoy your nesting stage and hopefully your sickness will pass quicker than last time.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Mari-Ann! That is such wonderful news. A new little one to add to your nest. All the best and remember to take it easy (that's what people keep telling me anyway). Don't feel any pressure to write as often, take what time you have to rest.

ReplyDeleteMy two-year-old was certain about the genders of both of her little siblings-and right on both of them! The second was another girl, and the third will be a boy. I think little ones have a bit of insight on that!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! :) New babies are fantastic and you'll be great with two!!
ReplyDeleteWhat exciting news - Congrats to you and your family! Isn't it amazing how much children pick up without being told or taught? Wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Such an exciting time, I too was sick 24/7 for the first 6 months of my second pregnancy and it was tough keeping up with an almost 3 year old, so I think it is amazing you are posting at all (glad you are, though :) )! All the best!
ReplyDeletePs. I posted about preparing a first child for a new sibling, in case you're interested: http://nurturingthetenderyears.blogspot.com/2010/07/preparing-your-children-for-arrival-of.html

ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Mari-Ann! What wonderful news. :) I would not be surprised at all if the baby is a girl - James is a very smart and perceptive little guy. You have such a beautiful family and I'm so excited and happy for you!
ReplyDeleteDear Mari-Ann!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations from another Mariann from Hungary. I really like your blog!
I hope everything will be ok and in August you will hae another healthy baby.
Congratulations! I so look forward to seeing your adventures with you next baby. James will make a great big brother! I once had someone tell me young children are naturally drawn to pregnant women. It's such a beautiful story of James going to sit by his Mama and sister.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! May your pregnancy be uneventful and your delivery easy!
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! that is a great story about james-he's probably right!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I am so excited for you! When in August? Ours would have been the 22nd. And J-jo is Aug 2 and Bear the 11th:) Bear always always spoke of J-jo as her brother even BEFORE we found out that he was a boy. There is a good chance that James is onto something:)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Coconut family! Can't wait to see if James was right. That would be really neat if he was. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah! Congratulations! I kinda noticed you were not blogging much!
ReplyDeleteHere's to a happy and healthy pregnancy!!
congratulations!!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful news, congratulations to all four of you!
ReplyDeleteMy eldest said the exact same thing to me at the start of my pregnancy, I had a baby brother in my tummy. He was right too, but only knew because my sister had a baby boy due six months before I had mine, so he'd been bombarding me with questions already.
Maybe James picked up on the signs too?
Congratulations! What exciting news.
ReplyDeleteMari-Ann,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! How wonderful! I hope you start feeling better soon.
Congratulations! Fantastic news for you all. Blessings, Daisy xx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations that is beautiful news. p.s we love the finger knitted flowers, may have to try it next week - from us all at www.no-time-for-housework.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I am also 17 weeks pregnant. I haven't announced it in my blog or Facebook yet. I think I am waiting to know the gender. I didn't look pregnant until about 5.5 months pregnant or more. BUT I can definitely tell early. Good luck and I hope you can start eating and not feeling so sick!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! Enjoy your craft making. James is going to be a great big brother. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I read your blog ALL the time and don't usually comment but I had to this time b/c of some of the stuff you said. My son is almost the same age as yours. He'll be 4 on May 30th and our baby #2 is due Aug. 10th! The funniest thing is that our son has also been adamant that this baby is a girl! His reasoning though is "because there can only be one boy"! We find out the gender this Friday and I am sooo excited :) I've tried to prepare Luke (our son) for the possibility of a brother but he won't hear any of it.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon. I was sick with this one through my 16th week and lost weight but now I'm packing it on with a vengeance!
Thanks again for all your posts and ideas. I teach PreK and K and I'm thinking about becoming a stay at home mommy next year and homeschooling my son so I love seeing all the stuff you do with James. Your brilliant!
Congratulations! Glad you are feeling better with the start of the second trimester. Love the little booties you've made! I am sure the big brother will do awesome after the little one arrives!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I have been lurking for a while mostly for the homeschool/sensory tub/playdough ideas. I, too, am expecting and am only 2 weeks behind you. I hope all stays well for you during the pregnancy and birth!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Siblings are amazing. I hope you feel better soon. At 21 weeks with my twins and I stopped getting sick. That's soon!
ReplyDeleteI bet James has a hunch, children are so smart ;)

Awww - congratulations to you all! James surely has wonderful intuition about his sister coming soon :-)
ReplyDeleteI appreciate all of your tips, ideas and hints they really give me some great ideas for my own work with my Taiwanese students.
Time to get out a doll and some diapers and let James practice changing the diaper so when his sister (or brother comes) he will be helpful to you and daddy! Take care of yourself.
Congratulations! That is such a great news :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful pregnancy ;)
Congratulations! Such a great news!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful pregnancy and please share the preparations :)
Congratulations! I am just a week behind you with my #2!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I can relate to morning sickness, I ended one pregnancy weighing less than I started with. Unfortunately, I gain weight while breastfeeding, which is not supposed to happen, I know. I'm still nursing my youngest, so am carrying some extra poundage, unfortunately. Sigh... one day...I'll only have a little one for a short while, I can work on my figure for decades.... Anyways, good luck to you with this pregnancy!
ReplyDeleteAwesome news! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteGreat news!
Congrats!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMari-Ann, this is the most wonderful news. Congratulations. I am very excited for you and your family. I'm sorry that you have been so unwell. I can't wait to hear more about your precious new baby and how James finds out that he is going to be a big brother.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing that James has been making comments about a baby sister. If James thinks he is going to be a big brother to a baby sister, then I'm with him - I'm thinking that this baby might just be a baby girl.
I hope that as each day passes you feel a whole lot better.
Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm so excited for you, Mari-Ann!!! How wonderful that James will get to be a big brother! My son and daughter were 5 years apart (just a bit more than your two will be) which was perfect for our family. I know my son was often focused on taking care of his little sister, and I'm sure James will be the same way! Lots of blessings and hugs! Deb @ LivingMontessoriNow.com
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I sincerely hope you begin to feel better soon. Wonderful news!

Oh Congratulations! What wonderful news! :-)
ReplyDeleteAll the best wishes to you all and I hope the nausea and vomiting stops soon, I know myself it can be really challenging at times. But of course it is all worth it in the end! :-) You'd might wanna try some acupuncture, that really worked for me! :-)
Take care and keep us posted!
/Emy
