Oh boy, are you guys in for a treat!!
Oh boy, are you guys in for a treat!!
My friend, Susan, author of Chasing Marcus and owner the lovely Etsy store, The Felted Pear, has made a veritable cornucopia of beautiful felt food to give away to one *very* lucky winner!
Just look at this feast! A true rainbow of colors.
And yes, ALL of this will go to one of you!
(note: dishes and bowl are NOT included)
And yes, ALL of this will go to one of you!
(note: dishes and bowl are NOT included)
Not only is Susan a felt food guru, she's also a Registered Dietitian. She designed these healthy foods with the four main food groups in mind and has provided enough of it to create several balanced meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. See the photos below for details of each food group...
Protein
Fruits & Vegetables
~A banana {removable from the peel!}, the most beautiful starfruit, an eggplant, a carrot, and five sweet strawberries~
Dairy
~An adorable carton of milk, a wedge of white cheese, a slice of cheddar cheese, a bit of shredded mozzarella, and a stick of butter~
Grain
~Two slices of whole wheat bread, 20 (!) pieces of whole wheat bowtie pasta, and two perfect pancakes~
Amazing, right? Each of these items were handmade with care by Susan using child-safe, environmentally friendly materials.
And can I just say that I am beyond impressed with the handiwork and fine attention to detail on each piece of food - from the delicate french knots on the strawberries to the unbelievably uniform blanket stitching on the pancakes!
I'm totally blown away by Susan's generosity with this giveaway. This huge collection of food will completely stock the play kitchen of one very lucky child! In addition to all of the food shown in the above photos, Susan is throwing in some sauce for your pasta! Oh and she's sending it all to you in an adorable "recyclable" bag, the color of which is chosen by the winner. That's a total of 45 items (A $100 value!) - FOR FREE!
You'll find even more fabulous food options at Susan's store, The Felted Pear, where she's generously offering a 20% discount to Counting Coconuts readers - simply enter "coconuts" in the comment section when you check out. This offer is good until July 18th.
You'll have 8 chances to win this amazing bounty! None of the following are mandatory; they simply offer you the maximum amount of entries:
1) Visit The Felted Pear and let me know in the comment section your favorite item in the store and what food item you'd like to see added to the store.
2) Become a fan of The Felted Pear on Facebook.
3) Become a follower of Counting Coconuts.
4-8) Come back to this post and leave ONE comment per day until the end of the giveaway, which is Friday, July 16th at midnight (AST).
This giveaway is open to anyone in the United States (incl. Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Island) and Canada.
Good luck!

Wow, that is *super* amazing! What a beautiful collection of foods. I loved the etsy shop too, the artichoke is a work of art. I guess if I were going to ask for another food, I would say maybe watermelon, or pizza. I know pizza's not the healthiest food ever, but it can be pretty healthy with the right toppings!

ReplyDeleteOh my how lovely! My daughter would absolutely love all this beautiful food. I stopped by the felted pear and I don't know how one would pick a single favorite. I narrowed it down to the broccoli, omlett set and the fruit and veggie set. Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI loved everything - my favorite was the broccoli, and I would love to see a loaf of french bread added to the store.

ReplyDeleteSusan certainly is very talented and so very generous. I am disappointed that I cannot enter (but completely understand that posting to Australia is very expensive). It just means I can immediately take advantage of the discount that Susan is offering seeing as though I won't win this particular give away :)
ReplyDeleteSavvy is right into playing restaurants at the moment so I think Susan's creations would be a perfect addition to our house.

ReplyDeleteWow! Just Wow! What an amazing opportunity. I have to say the kiwi is my favorite item in the shop, it is so cute and looks just as yummy as real kiwi. Though the starfruit and mushrooms are cool too...
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a light spring pasta medley, with asparagus and little bits of goat cheese. :)
I've been a follower of the blog for a bit now, and just love it!

It is extremely hard to narrow down which food I like from the felted pear but if I had to choose one it would be the kiwi. I love the intricate detail and how real they look. If I had to add one item it would be definitely be leafs of lettuce so the kids could make a salad.
ReplyDeleteI like the head of lettuce and the lemons and limes.
ReplyDeleteI first thought the omelet was a taco. So I do think a taco would be a good addition to her shop.

The food I'd want to add would be the ones we eat all the time - beans, or blueberries - but what a nightmare to handstitch and not lose! So I'll say plums, since I didn't see any and they're so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThese are SO adorable!!! I LOVE the strawberries. I would love to see some desserts. Cupcakes would be precious. Plus a build your own pizza could have lots of options.

So I did food last time.. this time I think I will tell you random things from my day.. hopefully they will be entertaining and not boring! Today Sammy and I did our grocery store runs and he got a special treat (something I do every few times to give him an incentive to be good with out completely bribing him). He picked out a bright blue doughnut from the bakery at the grocery store. When we got home he said, " I eat my special do not (yes with a space) because I did not 'do not do that'!"
ReplyDeleteI've been dreaming about that yummy felt food! It is so neat.

So my comment for today:
ReplyDeleteToday has been a tough one for Sammy.. he fell at the post office this morning and got a big old scratch and bruise on his knee. Then at the park he got stung by some sort of bug (I didn't see it) and hes got a swollen hand :-P. We made things a little better with some ice cream at lunch.. and I'm sipping on an IBC root beer while he naps.
Day 3 :)

ReplyDeleteThursday entry :) I'm obviously thinking too much about felt food- I had a dream about it last night!
ReplyDeleteDarn! I was going to do so well with this giveaway and post a comment each day. :( I missed a couple, but here's my comment for Thursday...
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about it and thought it would be fun if Susan made a picnic basket, like a basket out of felt that held things like a watermelon slice, a chicken leg or sandwiches, chips and a soda can.
what about a bunch of asparagus that you could bunch up or take a part. The lettuce looks so great what about a head of cauliflower with one or two pieces that detach???
