You all know how much I love the early learning resources website, KidSoup, right? I've used it time and again for a variety of our activities - click here, here and here to see what I mean.
Well, have I some exciting news for you! The creators of KidSoup have outdone themselves by creating a new website called ABC Twiggles. It's chock-full of amazing alphabet resources and ideas - everything from printables to teacher's guides to book recommendations!
My favorite thing about this site is that is has activities for each letter that appeal to all 5 of the senses. There's a section each for "See the Letter', "Hear the Letter", "Taste the Letter" (and in turn, Smell the Letter), and "Feel the Letter". How cool is that?!
The generous people at KidSoup, Inc. have offered to give one of my readers a FREE year long subscription to the ABC Twiggles site. With the school year upon us, you will be so glad to have their resources in your homeschooling arsenal!
How to win:
1. Simply visit ABC Twiggles by clicking the button the left and get a sense of just how awesome this site is. Everything in the letter A section is free and available for sampling!
2. Come back to this post and leave me a comment letting me know what you like best about the site - this is mandatory.
3. For extra entries, come back every day and leave me a comment on this post.
The giveaway will end on October 30th at 9pm Atlantic Time. I'll announce the winner the next day. Be sure to leave your email address so I can pass it on to the good folks at ABC Twiggles who will in turn arrange your free membership!
*Keep in mind that if you don't win you'll still benefit from the incredibly reasonable membership price (just $21.99/year!). Oh and there's also a 30% discount available to KidSoup members. Good stuff!*
Good luck everyone!
~Thank you for your comments!~
great giveaway!! I love the multisensory approach! it would be great for Eden!!
ReplyDeleteWhat's NOT to like about this site...so many materials! I too like that it has materials for so many different learning types. I will definitely be adding this resource to my bookmarks!
ReplyDeleteWow! So many fun things to do with the letter A! I have to pick just one? The "write the letter" activities are great as my 4 y/o is learning to write letters. The "meet the letter" stick figure is so cute! Pick me! Pick me!
ReplyDeleteWow! They have so much to offer. Love that they have a craft and folder game for the letters. I love that they also have the handwriting practice sheets in D'Nealian.
ReplyDeleteI love the Word Wall!
ReplyDeleteWow. Everything I need in one spot! This is a definitely a purchase I'll be making. The price is right for sure. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great resource and website. We liked the letter chant the best! I also think B would love to hear the online book read to him.
ReplyDeleteWow! That is a great site! I think my favorite thing is the funny and cute online story, and the Taste the Letter section would be a close second. I could see myself using all the ideas, though!

ReplyDeletePERFECT TIMING! I just posted yesterday about how my daughter has shown a sudden intense interest in learning her letters. This is PERFECT! I really liked the E-Book. I think my daughter would have fun watching that. But the snack ideas and recipes are so fun too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway!
I love the pre-writing worksheets, very clear and easy to follow for my little one who is currently fascinated with letters! The letter related worksheet is also pretty great for her. Thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteWow what a great resource- my favorite part is how everything is all pulled together for you (all the work is done!). Thank you for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteThis may sound simple, but my favorite was the uppercase AND lowercase A coloring page, with the lower case 'a' written properly. I spent over an hour yesterday trying to find a suitable template, with both of them on the same page, and never did find one I was happy with. I was so excited to see this!
ReplyDeleteblueviolet_290@hotmail.com
Sophie and I did many of the A activities when we were doing our apple unit in September. We really enjoyed the activities we did!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance! I went to this page and I like it..it has lots of printables, even letter's crafts..I love it!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great website! I hadn't heard of kidsoup either, so will have to check it out too :) Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI like the noe stop shopping aspect. If you have tons of time, you can find a lot of letter of the week type activities to put together a curriculum yourself, but I've realized that the time savings is sometimes worth spending the money to have someone else do it. This looks like a good value for the money, fun and loaded with activities.
ReplyDeleteWOW! I love the themes and that everything comes in both bw and in colour! I would print like crazy! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeletesuch a great website! I love the letter crafts the most!
ReplyDeleteI really like the literacy section. We love books, so they are always a good way to open up a topic. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteoo very exciting! What an amazing resource!! I really liked the different ideas they have for holidays. Sometimes I get stuck in a rut and do the same crafts each year so that would be neat to get some different ideas. I also like that they have book recommendations to go along with a lot of different things.
ReplyDeleteThis site is really cool! This is the first time I've ever seen it. My favorite part about the site is all the ideas for each letter. I only saw them for the letter A, but I get the idea. This would be a great resource. I like the multisensory approach.
ReplyDeleteHi Mari-Ann,
ReplyDeleteLove the interactive options on the site...I've been looking for a neat option to expose Rachel to the computer.
Also, I put aside time today to read yesterdays post, and see it was removed. If possible, could I still access it? Let me know lynchta1@hotmail.com
Take care,
T.A.
Thanks for sharing this site. I looked around the site and I think it is great. I love the multi- sensory approach, and how everything you could possible need is right there. This would be great for my son!
ReplyDeleteI first have to say that I love your site! You have inspired me! Now, on to the fun new site. I like that they give us options in color and black and white...because let's be honest, I can go through colored ink like water!;0.
ReplyDeleteThat is really cool! I like the online activities that the kids can look at as well as the movement section for things to do. This looks like a great site!
ReplyDeleteI've just 'discovered' your blog and I'm in love already! what a great giveaway! what is there not to love about that site! My favorite is that it's adaptable to differnent ages and stages and the multi-sensory of course! I haven't explored it fully - but I've added it to my favorites!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great site! I love all of the ideas, especially the online books and letter craft ideas. But all of it would be super helpful to have in a multisensory way!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the offer!!
solson25@hotmail.com
Wow. There's a ton of great stuff. I am just getting started with two preschoolers...so I can see this site coming in handy. I especially like the Meet the Letter Introduction. That seems like something my children would enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing this with us!
ReplyDeleteI love that each letter has an associated puppet with it!
Thanks for hosting!

WOW! Thanks for introducing me to this great site along with Kid Soup. I definitely like the multi sensory approach when teaching preschool and love the Meet the Letter activity with letter puppets. Also, love the file folder games.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great resource! It's so nice to have all these ideas in one spot, from the book recommendations to the crafts to the recipes to the handwriting sheets. I don't think I could pick a favorite. It's all wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe letter crafts are great! What I think I like best is the work that it would save me!!
ReplyDeleteI love that there are so many different themes for the letter A. I assume that's true of the other letters? So cool! Really like the "hear the letter" portion.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great site! I love the variety - I have 4 boys who are all so different from each other. There's sure to be something for everyone here.
ReplyDeletequeentomy3boys(at)yahoo(dot)com
I love how it reaches out to all 5 senses! I like the option for printables plus all the instructions to make additional materials for each letter (like the Sandpaper Letters).
ReplyDeleteThere are so many things I like about this site. I like that you can either listen to the online story or play it in read mode. I also like that they offer file folder games. My absolute favorite though is that they give instructions on how to use and discuss each activity with your child. This is especially helpful for new homeschooling moms life myself, who are still trying to figure out how to go about homeschooling.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
Wow. So many fun things to do. Was already thinking of purchasing membership so this discount is great.
ReplyDeleteSee it, feel it, write it, taste it and hear it. Seems very organised and easy to use. Esp usefuly for a full time working mum like me who just wants to pick up something to do with my kid.
ReplyDeleteI'm back for a second entry today...so many wonderful activities and approaches utilized. The recipes are so clever.
ReplyDeleteI'm back for a second entry today...so many wonderful activities and approaches utilized. The recipes are so clever.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about this new site. I run a home daycare and have a bunch of ready to learn little wonders that are going to love the activities.
ReplyDeleteYay I am coming back to make another entry for today. You know I like to put something in the comments other than the hey I am here again :-P.. So this time I thought I would share something I think you would like about where I live... in my attempt to convince you to move here *wink* This morning I had coffee while watching the sun rise up over the mountains... and the cool thing I can watch it set over the other mountains tonight :-) All from my back yard :-)
ReplyDeleteI always had an easy time with school, but my brother struggled, even though we all knew he was intelligent. If some of these different methods of teaching had been utilized, ie. touching the letter, tasting the letter, I think he would have done better. He learned things differently, and his overworked teacher couldn't cater to all the different needs in the classroom.

Back again to say that I love the coloring sheets that they had and if I win it will be great to use those with Sam!
ReplyDeleteSuch great resources in one website. I loved the folder fun and letter craft the most!
ReplyDeleteI am going for an extra check back today post! I too loved the handwriting practice sheets.
ReplyDeleteBack again, hoping!
ReplyDeleteI like the site's five senses approach.... its very in sync with Montessori's idea of a child's sensitivity phases. And its all in one place- cool!
ReplyDeleteThank you for informing me about twiggles. It looks awesome. I'm not signing up to win because I don't have a printer yet, but I did want to let you know it looks really cool and informative. I can't wait until Christmas when I get my printer (hopefully) and can really start looking at sites like that one. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteEven though the Literacy section is way in the bottom right corner, I think this is such an important subject. I really appreciate how they have lessons/activities that tie into books. Another way to make reading more fun and interactive!
ReplyDeleteDay 2!
ReplyDeleteDay 2! Thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteI would love love love this! What a great thing to have eveything you need all in one resource!
ReplyDeleteSuper giveaway! My kiddos would love these "taste" the letter activities. What a great site, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOn a separate topic, could I get your email address? There's something I want to bring to your attention that I think you may not be aware of.

What a great site! I can't pick just one thing, but I do have to say that I love the variety of material that it offers. Thanks for the chance to win! I'll be back tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteok today's reason to move to where I live.. amazing fall colors red, orange, yellow, green, you name it we got it! People actually come a long way to drive on our skyline drive during the fall :-)

ReplyDeleteBack for day 3! We just read the A book again, and Sophie really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteJust checking back... I would love this giveaway! I love the word wall idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun site! I think that I like the file folder games best (I'm a sucker for those). Also I really liked the maze where the ant follows the a's through the apple. Really detailed I know, but I just like that it is a different approach on letter recognition than the find and circle all the a's that my daughter has been doing.
ReplyDeleteI love that it incorporates all the senses so thoroughly! What an amazing resource! No matter what,..I'll have something for both my little ones that will fit both learning styles! schroaderfamily@gmail.com. Thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteLove all of it really! With my twins,..it is nice to have resources that will fit their different learning styles. This site has depth! schroaderfamily@gmail.com Thanks for the recommendation!

Blueviolet_290@hotmail.com
This is amazing! I loved the resource section...ideas for activities, songs, and rhymes to go along with the letter. This is the part I always seem to struggle with when teaching my kiddos. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteStopping by for another chance to win!
ReplyDeleteThanks again.
Oh, these are awesome resources! What I like best about it is that it uses all the senses to teach the letters. My 4 year old daughter has Sensory Processing Disorder and I try to include strong sensory input activities into everything we do. This is a great site!
ReplyDeleteI love the taste the letter section! What a great idea! sbitter at live dot com
ReplyDeleteI love that it is more then just printable - craft, etc too. But also, that the printables are nice so that on a day that you want something quick and not too messy, there is something easy to grab.
ReplyDeletehmm so today's comment about why you should move to my area.. we have all 4 seasons. We get hot in the summer but its not unbearable all summer, we have nice crisp falls, winters we get some snow but not all the time, and spring is nice and warm :-)
ReplyDeleteLove that the little ones can sit and hear the online books.
ReplyDeleteHoping you pick me!

ReplyDeleteBack to try again! Would really love to win this!!!
ReplyDeleteI really like the website!
ReplyDeleteFourth time's the charm?
ReplyDeleteI'm back again for my daily entry! My little girl and I just started working through one letter per week. We started A on monday and it was perfect timing to hear about this site! We did the matching game with lowercase and uppercase A's and she loved it! Now she points out any A she sees and tells me if it's an uppercase or lowercase.
ReplyDeleteOkay today's reason - All of the wonderful things you can pick yourself, strawberries, apples, peaches, pumpkins, blueberries, and a few other things!
ReplyDeleteI like how they use multipule sences.
