Hooray for St. Patrick's Day! I have a special place in my heart for all things Irish after having spent some time in Ireland studying Irish literature several years ago. Such a beautiful country rich with history.
Included in the tub:
:: 3 bags of split peas
:: Bits of gold chenille sticks snipped into 1/2 inch pieces
:: Shiny rocks I've collected during my travels over the years
:: A small gold pill box from Ireland
:: Some plastic gold coins
:: A wee wooden bowl and scoop
James really, really likes this month's tub. Yes, a fair amount of the peas ended up all over the floor, but that's part of the fun (for him anyway!). He scooped and poured, he collected and sorted, he put everything down his shirt and giggled when it all fell out. :)
This is much prettier in person what with all the gold flecks against the dark green. I put together a collection of rainbow colored cookie cutters for James to use and right away he made a batch of green "coins".

Love both of these! It's funny because we had actually made the same homemade green and gold glitter play-dough for Christmas and now we are using it for St. Patrick's too!!

It's wonderful to see you back. I am so with you on your blogging "rules". I absolutely love to read blogs, but sometimes I find that there just simply is not enough time to prepare activities and resources for my children, keep up with my blog and keep up with everybody else's blogs. I am always inspired by the blogs I read and find them an excellent source of creative ideas.
I can see why James would love spending time at this sensory tub. Green and gold sparkly playdough sounds awesome. I like your rainbow cookie cutters to go with it.

Love it! I definitely need to switch out Maddie's winter sensory tub. I'm headed to the market in the morning so I'll have to pick up a bag of some sensory goodness. :) And, I LOVE the green dough with gold glitter. Fabulous idea!
So glad to see you "back." I totally understand where you're coming from but just LOVE reading your blog. One, I think we're pretty similar (we like things JUST so!) and our kids are so close in age that you provide me with a plethora of ideas.

Looks like we had similar ideas this month! I haven't posted mine yet, but I've also got a sensory tub with peas and gold coins, and I was planning some green playdough with gold sparkles. I guess great minds think alike! I haven't introduced the sensory tub yet...I'm a little worried about the mess of the peas, but I guess that's part of the fun, as you said!

I made a similar tub, but used tri color rotini with my gold coins. Also in your non existent spare time, do you have a favorite playdough recipe? I made one once and it was pretty oily. So either the recipe was off, or I was off!
